Terms and conditions
The rules for booking and staying at Sagar Darshan Guest House, from how a booking is confirmed to the ID you must carry.
About these terms
These terms apply to this website and to a stay at Sagar Darshan Guest House (Sagar Darshan Atithi Gruh), Somnath Mandir Road, Prabhas Patan, Somnath, Gir Somnath, Gujarat 362268, which is managed by Shree Somnath Trust. By sending an enquiry or staying with us you accept them. Bookings made on somnath.org are governed by the Trust's terms on that website, and where they differ, the Trust's terms apply.
Enquiries are not bookings
An enquiry sent from this website is a request, not a confirmed booking. A room is booked only when the reception confirms the room, the dates, the tariff and the deposit to you. Rooms are subject to availability, which is heavy around festivals, weekends and the Shravan month.
Tariff, deposit and GST
Tariffs on this website are per room per night, as published by Shree Somnath Trust, and are indicative. The rate that applies is the one the reception confirms when you book. A refundable deposit is taken for each room. GST is charged extra at billing, at the rate notified by the Government of India for hotel accommodation. An extra person, a child above 10 years and an extra bed are charged extra. Current figures are on the tariff page.
Identity proof at check-in
Every adult guest must show a valid government photo ID at check-in, such as an Aadhaar card, voter ID, passport or driving licence. This is a police requirement for all hotels and guest houses in Gujarat, not our choice, and we cannot check in a guest who does not have one. Guests who are not Indian citizens must show a passport with a valid visa, and their stay is reported to the immigration authorities through Form C.
Check-in and check-out
Check-in is at 11:00 AM and check-out is at 10:00 AM. An early arrival or a late departure depends on the room being free and may be charged; ask the reception.
Conduct in the guest house
- Sagar Darshan is a pure vegetarian property, run in keeping with its place beside the Somnath temple.
- Gujarat is a dry state. Alcohol is prohibited by state law and may not be brought into or consumed in the guest house.
- Only registered guests may stay overnight in a room. Visitors must leave the room by the time the reception asks.
- Please keep noise down, especially late at night and before the early aarti, when other guests are sleeping.
- Guests are responsible for damage they cause to the room or its contents; the cost may be deducted from the deposit.
Your belongings
Keep cash, jewellery and documents with you or locked in your luggage. The guest house is not responsible for valuables left unattended in rooms or common areas, except where the law makes it so.
Halls and functions
The auditorium, banquet hall, conference hall, premier hall and reception hall are booked separately from rooms. The charge, timing and any rules for a function are agreed with the reception in advance and confirmed in writing.
